JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Guide at The Altar, you will lead sauna and cold plunge classes to groups of up to 50 guests, integrating breathwork, mindfulness, aromatherapy, movement, and Aufguss rituals. Your role is pivotal in delivering an exceptional experience as you hold space for people to experience an authentic connection. Guides are required to attend Teacher Training and partake in an audition process after Teacher Training, which will determine their ability to join the team. All training is provided by The Altar.
CLASS STRUCTURE
Our classes are designed to connect participants deeply with themselves and others, fostering a sense of community and personal growth. Each session uses music and scent, while incorporating heat, cold, and breath. Through your skills as a Guide you will help participants connect with themselves and others, creating a supportive environment that allows for a safe and meaningful experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in initial teacher training, a final audition and if accepted, all ongoing professional development.
- Design and structure a portfolio of 60-minute Guided Classes incorporating structural elements as taught during the Teacher Training program.
- Conduct and support classes in the sauna and ice baths, incorporating breathwork, movement, aromatherapy, sound and Aufguss.
- Be available during Non-guided hours to host our guests in their journey through sauna and cold plunge, using tools like breathwork, movement, scents, sound and Aufguss.
- Pre- and post- class tidiness, management of sound, lighting and props during sessions and coordination of guest movement in between spaces.
- Maintain a vibrant, exciting and joyful atmosphere, inviting people to participate, engage and connect.
- Provide knowledge about the tools being used, answer questions and actively work to create a safe, joyful and authentic experience for everyone involved.
- Participate in sessions during non-work hours, actively building relationships with the community beyond the boundaries of the hourly shift commitments.
REQUIREMENTS
- Availability onsite and in person for non-traditional hours, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Commit to at least 4 shifts of 5 hours per week with open availability.
- CPR and AED certification (we will provide if you do not already have it).
